Terms of Use

Acceptance

By using tools.txbooks.app (“the site”) you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the site.

What the site is

A collection of free, open tools for Bitcoin developers and self-custody users. Most tools run in your browser. Two (xpub Explorer, Lightning Address Validator) forward already-public data to public Bitcoin APIs via our server. The site has no user accounts and charges nothing.

No warranty — use at your own risk

The tools are provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind. We do our best to make them correct (spec-vector unit tests, independent audits, production-tested libraries) but Bitcoin software is subtle. You are responsible for verifying results that matter to you against independent sources before acting on them.

Do not paste private keys or seed phrases into any tool on this site. The tools are designed to work with extended publickeys (xpub/ypub/zpub/ tpub/upub/vpub), PSBTs, Lightning invoices, and addresses — all of which are safe to share. A private key or seed should never be pasted into any web tool, ours or anyone else's.

Acceptable use

You may use the site for personal, educational, and commercial purposes. You agree not to:

  • abuse the rate limits or bypass them via IP rotation / spoofing
  • use automated scripts against our API routes beyond occasional developer testing
  • redistribute the site as a paid service without permission
  • attempt to deanonymize other users of the site
  • use the site to probe internal networks, pivot attacks, or target third parties

Intellectual property

Tool source code and site design are owned by TxBooks. Third-party open-source libraries used by the tools retain their own licenses (bitcoinjs-lib, @scure/bip32, bs58, bech32, light-bolt11-decoder, and others). Specific tool libraries may be open-sourced separately; check the relevant tool page.

Third-party services

Some tools relay requests to third parties (mempool.space, Blockstream.info, Lightning Address servers). We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or privacy practices of those third parties. Their outages or response data can cause tool errors.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TxBooks is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site, including (without limitation) financial loss from relying on tool output, loss of data, or service interruption.

Affiliate relationships

The site may link to hardware wallet vendors or other Bitcoin-related services. When a link reflects a paid affiliate relationship it is disclosed (rel="sponsored"plus footer disclosure). Clicking an affiliate link may result in a commission to TxBooks at no additional cost to you. We only recommend products we would use ourselves.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will bump the date at the top. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which TxBooks is registered, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes not resolved informally will be handled in the state and federal courts of that jurisdiction.
